View from the cafe at the top of the stairs at Gerokostopoulou. Nice time in the sunshine. On the right hand side are the bell towers of the church of pantanassa. The crisis is foremost on people's minds around me and in their conversations. Even on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Some are scared of who's walking next to them or behind them (very, very new and weird for Greece), others are angry at the terrible property tax imposed in the electricity bill, others are ready to take on the riot police. Thank goodness for couples in love sitting in each others arms in the sun. Plenty of those about today. And new mums with babies.
Θέα από την καφετέρια στις σκάλες της Γεροκοστοπούλου. Κάλα την πέρασα σήμερα στον ήλιο ζωγραφίζοντας τα καμπαναριά της Παντάνασσας. Μακάρι να έχω πολλά ήρεμα μεσημέρια, με έναν καφέ και όλα τα συμπράγαλα της ζωγραφικής. Πάντως οι συζητήσεις γύρω μου όλες για την κρίση. Άλλοι φοβισμένοι για το ποιός περπατάει δίπλα τους, άλλοι αγανακτισμένοι για τα χαράτσια, άλλοι έτοιμοι για πόλεμο με τα ΜΑΤ. Δόξα το θεό υπάρχουν και ερωτευμένοι αγκαλιά στον ήλιο και νέες μαμάδες με μωράκια.
